Kikuyu sub- county police boss has said that the area has been peaceful since they gunned down a suspected serial killer and robber who has been terrorising residents.

Kennedy Wainaina Kinyanjui, was shot dead last week on Tuesday in Cabanas, Nairobi after he was tracked from Kidfarmaco estate where he had committed some robberies.

Kinyanjui had been on the loose, a situation that had made Kikuyu sub-county very insecure.

He had been in hiding at his home in Ruai.

Kikuyu sub-county police boss, Birgen Kiptoo said that Kinyanjui's mother, Judy Waithera was released on bond but his sister, wife and brother are still in custody. 

The sister to Kinyanjui was caught in possession of six rounds of ammunition. 

According to Kiptoo, it has been a relief to them and the residents more so to them that were robbed of their loved ones by the brutal murderer. 

He urged residents to report any crime suspects to assist the police curb insecurity.
