Residents of Kikuyu Sub County have threatened to take to the street after heavy down pour demolished the roads in the region and no one is accountable for the renovations.

The roads which is in Nguriunditu region is Sigona ward have been on the poor condition since March when rainy season kicked off and no leader has availed to neither construct nor promised to repair the poor roads.

The villagers who revealed that the roads have been of great impact to the community especially during the trading of their farm produce from the region to Kikuyu town and thus if not repaired it will cause greater loss to the farmers.

James Kamau 67, who is a farmer and resident of Nguriunditu, said that the villagers have already till their lands and planted and if the road is not constructed sooner, they will have loss during harvest period.

Kamau said that he has been farmer for more than 20 years and the roads have been a great impact during transportation of farm produce and thus urged the MP Ichungwa Kimani to avail or they will take to the street for demonstration.

Another Michael Maina 53, resident said that they had earlier called for area MCA Mutonya Njenga to work on the issue but he has been slow in action and thus they will not tolerate anymore since the people of Kikuyu are entitled to good infrastructure.

The Nguriunditu road is feeder road to Kikuyu town and along the way farming is evident as the main economic activity along the road.

They have called on the area MP to come out handy in assisting in the construction of the road or they will conduct a peaceful demonstration if the requirement is not met.
