Governor Amason Kingi has officially launched the Kilifi County pre-primary school milk programme.

The County government is targeting all the 799 pre-primary schools under its management and will see more than 124,000 children benefit from this programme.

Kingi said they had invested heavily in the Early Childhood sector, including the construction of over 700 Early Childhood Education and Development (ECDE) centres, free pre-primary education and distribution of free learning materials to all public ECDE centers.

''The introduction of this program will be a big boost in restoring the dignity of our education standards in Kilifi,'' Kingi said during the launch, Thursday.

''As a government, we have taken concrete measures to ensure children that have attained the school going age are not left behind but are given the opportunity to get better education,'' he added, as he addressed stakeholders, including children who were given free milk.
