A half acre piece of land belonging to the Kilimani Police Station has been reported to be grabbed.
This comes after the land’s ministry wrote to the police saying that the land had already been registered and bears three title deeds.
The Inspector General, Joseph Boinnet has, however, ordered for the investigation in the matter since the title deeds are conflicting. He directed CID boss, Ndegwa Muhoro to investigate the issue.
The title deed is written on John Harun’s name, indicating that he will one day claim the land. However, the land is still not developed.
According to reports, the Kilimani Police Station land was big in 1960’s but has since been grabbed by different people. There are also reports that the land around Kilimani and Upper Hill estates in Nairobi are one of the most expensive lands in the country as quoted by Hass Consultant Company as an acre in the said places is being sold at sh370 million.
The land was registered under Harun in 1981 that then changed the name in 1989.
This is not the first time public land has been grabbed by people. Cases of land grabbing have been increasing daily in the country.
