Killing for love? It was a doomed moment when the varsity corridors were hit by the sad news of death of a finalist over a 'fresher'. The love triangle was the least of the expectations to cause death.
It sucks to imagine that the best brains would be exposed in such a heinous rootless deed. One is left wondering, if the top cream of the society can kill for lust then what is expected from the rest? Intellectualism is under siege.
Scholars can't afford to speak. Their ego is undressed. How crazy can one be over a fresher? Disgustingly, the lost soul was said to have been tipsy and utterly rowdy.
A few months to completion, one wonders what skills would be discharged to serve the society. It's a valid depiction of the vices that bedevil the higher learning institutions. It beats logic that one could be managing between books, bottle and a relationship that cost his life. This is a poor image of the learning institution but also a portrayal in the failure of the entire society in matters morality and mentorship.
Operating with the notion that only the first-graders join the campuses, it would be right to argue that the best in the society is not the best. Generalizing the same, would be wrong however not in totality.
It is sad to expect a degree certification only to get a casket, all the dreams forgotten courtesy of a petty relationship competition.
What is required is a change in mannerisms and social traits. A lot should be invested in social behaviour training since it appears books alone are not sufficient for the entire well-being of the society.
