Speaking on Monday in his office, Kodeck said Kimaiyo did not give the orders as an individual but as an office hence he cannot be undermined.

"I hereby want to dispel the notion by some journalists that the security reporting protocol went with the former IG," said Kodeck.

He said government policies demand that any directives given by public officers while in office should not be undermined but implemented to the latter.

The commissioner told the journalists to comply with the regulations arguing that they were not issued by Kimayio, but the office of the IG.

He therefore urged members of the fourth estate representing various stations in the region to understand plight of police bosses and therefore stop blaming them for being subtle in giving out information.

Kodeck however encouraged the journalists to work closely with police bosses from Machakos County in a bid to zero rate crime in the area.
