Former IG David Kimaiyo has adviced IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati to declare Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the repeat presidential polls.
Kimaiyo has said that there is no need of repeating elections that were boycotted in sections of Nyanza.
Speaking on Sunday, Kimaiyo said it will be inconsequential for IEBC to repeat the polls in Nyanza, noting Uhuru has garnered at least 7.4 million votes.
The former Elgeyo Marakwet senatorial aspirant noted the number is close to what Uhuru garnered in the nullified August 8 polls.
"I ask IEBC not to waste time. Declare Uhuru Kenyatta president so that swearing-in plans begin," Kimaiyo said.
Chebukati had earlier stated that elections will be carried out afresh in Kisumu, Siaya, Migori and Homa Bay counties after protesters prevented electoral officials from running the exercise on Thursday.
