Kimangu area residents in Rongai have thanked the county government for building a modern Early Childhood Development Education centre; the first of its kind since the school started.
Speaking on Saturday when they held prayers at the new class, they said the move shows commitment and willingness by the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua led administration to ensure resources are also channelled to the grassroots.
They showered the administration with praises saying ever since he assumed power, the area has witnessed transformation in terms of infrastructure, transport and communication networks, schools and businesses among others.
“I was born and raised here with my four children going to this nursery school, the best I have witnessed being done on it is a change of iron sheets; which was sponsored byabout five years after an aspirant who went ahead to lose in the elections donated the iron sheets during campaigns,” noted Peninah Wamboi, a retired teacher adding that Mbugua had transformed the villager’s perception about government development by building the ECDE class.
A majority of people who schooled at the nursery school are now mature people with some having the chance to work in the Nakuru County Government serving in different capacities.
“To me, it’s a dream come true seeing a permanent structure in the name of an ECDE class erected at Kimangu primary school, having schooled here and with the crop of leaders we elect year in year out, some things could have never been imagined. Talk of service to the common mwananchi at the lowest level possible, our governor has proved that he can do it if given support and enough resources,” offered Samson Nderitu, a ward administrator in Visoi ward.
The residents have now urged the governor to help them equip Kimangu Dispensary saying they are sometimes forced travel to the neighbouring Lengenet Dispensary due to lack of drugs, an operational laboratory, and maternity wing among other important facilities.
Accompanied by other senior county officials, the governor has spent the last two weeks touring ongoing development projects and officially commissioning completed ones in Rongai and Gilgil sub-counties.
He donated uniforms, reading and writing materials to pupils of different schools and sanitary towels to upper primary school girls.
