The Trade and Industrialization department of Uasin Gishu County Government on Tuesday held an allocation exercise of the Kimumu market stalls to the residents.

The allocation was preceded by a pre-allocation meeting held with stakeholders whereby a criteria for allocation was designed. 

Speaking during the meeting, the director for Trade and Industrialization Kipleting Mengich emphasized on equality when sharing the available stalls.

The Kimumu market which was constructed through a Grant from World Bank was shared among the residents of Moiben Sub County with Kimumu ward taking half of the share while 40% was shared among Tembelio, Moiben, Karuna Meibek, Sirgoit and Kapsoya ward. People living with disability were allocated at least 10% of the share.

The allocation process would be completed on Wednesday where allocatees will be shown their newly acquired lockups, raised stalls and the floor spaces.

The meeting was attended by a representative of the area Member of Parliament Silas Tiren, Member of County Assembly for Sirgoit incharge of trade David Keitany and the ward administrator for Kimumu Beatrice Bitok.
