Despite Kindiki’s latest move, President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained his intention to support Ruto in 2022 whether or not he retains his seat this year.

Speaking on Wednesday, Kithure said his people cannot continue backing ‘other’s all the time even though he admitted that he could go for Deputy President if his plan does not work.

“I know the President has told us to support Ruto but I am also in the race. I will travel to all parts of the country and push for the big seat because I am sure we can deliver,” he said.

“I know that it won’t be easy but at the same time, if the DP moves a position higher, then it means there will be a vacancy somewhere. It is time that the small communities also lead the country,” he said.

Ruto has been traversing the country in preparation for 2022 elections which has also attracted Governors Hassan Joho and Peter Munya.
