NASA strategists from Mt. Kenya region Isaiah Kindiki has dismissed claims by President Uhuru Kenyatta that the region remains solidly behind Jubilee government.
Recently, opposition leader Raila Odinga attracted multitudes of supporters during his tour to the region with analysts saying that the perceived Jubilee stronghold could be a tossup.
But on Saturday, Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto declared Meru a NASA region contrary to Kindiki, who is the chief point’s man of Odinga.
“I have evidence that they ferried crowds from neighbouring Central Province to fill their meeting. Meru people were busy elsewhere and they will vote NASA.
“You all saw some of angry residents’ barricaded main highway from Meru-Maua. The ground has shifted and that will be confirmed in August,” he said.
During Kenyatta’s tour, protestors barricaded Meru-Nkubu road on grounds that Jubilee administration has failed to improve infrastructure in the region.
Kindiki is the elder brother to Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki, who is a staunch supporter of President Kenyatta.
