Addressing journalists in his office on Friday, Kingi said he was shocked after receiving reports indicating that Mungatana was allegedly among the masterminds of the scam.

This comes following the release of a sworn affidavit by Mrs Lucy Wanjugu Kibogo, who is the director of one of the companies that has been linked to the scandal.

Kibogo, who is said to be Mungatana's close ally, claimed that the politician asked her to allow him to use her company's account, since all his accounts had been frozen due to huge debts.

Kingi further condemned the manner in which the Jubilee government was fighting corruption in the country, arguing that it was practicing selective justice.

“We are not pleased with how the Jubilee government is carrying out selective justice and delaying to arrest Mungatana over this issue. They had this information since December yet no attempts to arrest him have been made,” said Kingi, as quoted by Baraka FM.
