Speaking on Sunday in Mtwapa during an ODM Party rally, Kingi said the war on corruption can only be won through concerted efforts in the fight against graft, adding that every major stakeholder especially investigative agencies have a critical role to play.

"Corruption has continued to manifest itself in our country and we need to come together to fight it. My biggest concern is on the cartels that have been stealing county funds through the IFMIS system," he said.

"I call upon investigative agencies to look into the loopholes within the IFMIS system and ensure taxpayers money is not again lost to these cartels and recover what was stolen," he added.

Kingi's call comes in the wake of major corruption allegations that have rocked his administration, leading to the loss of more than Sh50million public funds.

He was accompanied by his Mombasa counterpart and ODM Deputy Party leader Hassan Joho.
