Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has thrown a bombshell at Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of meddling in county affairs in bad faith.
The DP had questioned that alleged loss of Sh51 million from county government of Kilifi’s bank accounts and called for accountability during his coastal tour that ended on Sunday.
However, speaking in Mtwapa, Kingi questioned the moral integrity of the DP, challenging him to come clean on a number of corruption related issues that he had been directly linked.
“The DP should desist from lecturing us on matters corruption. He should deal with the mess in Jubilee government where corruption has become a culture rather than meddling in our affairs,” he said.
“We have heard several scandals that he is directly linked yet he remains silent them. As Governor, I have already sent packing a number of officials linked with the theft,” he added.
Kingi’s remarks come barely two days after Women Representative Aisha Jumwa warned the DP against interfering with management of the coastal county.
