The relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has not benefitted Kilifi residents in anyway, Governor Amason Kingi has said.
Kingi alleged that Uhuru only wants to use Mung’aro to fight him ahead of the forthcoming general election. This is after Jubilee fronted Mung’aro to battle Kingi in the August polls. The county boss argued that Kilifi North has continued to experience several problems in the past four years despite Uhuru and Mung’aro being close allies.Kingi further accused Mung’aro of riding on Uhuru’s back to ascend to power in August. “Mung’aro is a great friend of the President, and that is why he is asking the people to elect him as the governor. His relationship with Uhuru does not add value to our lives because we need development. Kilifi North has never progressed though you will always see him next to the president,” said Kingi, as quoted by the Standard. The county boss also hit out at the President, arguing that Uhuru cannot manage the Presidency because he is a good guy, adding that Kenya needs a good President and not a good guy.
