With the August 8 elections inching closer, Mombasa governor aspirants are amplifying their campaigns in a bid to outdo each other.
After over two weeks of low-profile campaigns, Governor Hassan Joho's campaign team has swang back into action with his running mate William Kingi leading the hunt of votes. On Wednesday, the team retreated to the perceived Joho stronghold of Kisauni where they drummed up support for the ODM deputy party leader in his re-election bid.The team which toured Bamburi and Shanzu wards outlined the various development projects which the county administration has initiated since 2013.While urging residents to rally behind the firebrand Governor, Kingi defended Joho's development record and dismissed claims by his rivals who have poked holes into his development agenda.According to Kingi, despite the financial constraints, the county has achieved much and those criticizing the county leadership are not sincere.ODM Women Rep candidate Aisha Hussein who had accompanied Kingi asked residents to embrace the six-piece voting pattern, saying the county is an ODM zone.
