Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi alongside Governor Ali Hassan Joho held a consultative meeting with members of the civil society over the upcoming workshop on Mombasa County CVE action plan.
The action plan whose development was spear headed by Haki Afrika in partnership with other NGOs and the county government, seeks to address the issue of radicalization and violent extremism which Kingi said was fast eating the society.
"We believe the implementation of this action plan shall free our society of extremist ideologies and offer alternative constructive engagements to our youths who are most vulnerable to radicalization and violent extremism," said the DG.
As a government Kingi pledged to fully support the structures laid for the implementation of the Mombasa County CVE action plan and remain a reliable partner to the NGO world in addressing violent extremism.
