Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has said he will not be intimidated by Jubilee leaders for questioning the projects initiated in the county by the government.
Speaking in Adu Kamale on Tuesday after touring water projects in the county, Kingi said President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have been perceiving him as a stumbling block in their effort to develop the region, which is not the case.
The outspoken governor affirmed that he will continue to tell his residents the truth as the next general election draw closer.
“I will talk the truth, even if they take off all my clothes I will walk naked in Kilifi and say the truth,’’ he said.
Kingi's sentiments come after the government withdrew his security detail.
“Jubilee wants me to say thanks Mr President for bringing in projects, I cannot do it because I will be lying to people,” said Kingi.
“Withdrawal of my security should not give you (Kilifi people) sleepless nights. It's nothing, if they take firearms I cannot escape, I was not brought up with firearms,” he added.
