Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, saying their only aim is looting what belongs to the common Mwananchi.
Kingi said Opposition leaders will govern the country better than the Jubilee administration, which has been marred by corruption scandals.
“It is better to be ruled by clueless leaders, as they call us in Cord, than to be ruled by Jubilee whose only agenda is theft,” said Kingi, as quoted by The Star.
Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho have vowed to deliver the Coast region's votes to the Opposition.
The duo promised to implement the adopt-a-polling-station strategy which was suggested by Raila Odinga, to ensure the Jubilee government does not rig the elections.
“Each polling station should have at least 58 people to guard our votes. We will employ the adopt-a-polling-station strategy to ensure our votes are protected,” said Joho.
“As we speak, we have already received applications from people ready to sponsor the adoption of polling stations. We urge other regions to do the same, as it does not cost much to cater for the expenses of the people who will guard our votes," he added.
They further claimed that they are aware of government officials campaigning for Jubilee, adding that they will soon expose them.
“We are warning them that after the election, we shall come for you and the law with take its course. We cannot allow government officers, paid using our taxes, to engage in politics,” he said.
