Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has mourned the death of former Ganze MP, Joseph Kingi Kahindi.
The deceased died on April 24, while undergoing medication in India following a long illness.
During his burial in Mitsemerini village, Bamba ward, Governor Kingi said "we lay to rest a man whose legacy transcends beyond the Kilifi County borders for his outstanding devotion to serve the people of the Coastal region and Kenya at large."
He described the deceased as someone who rose through various ranks of leadership advocating for better education and leadership in Ganze and the whole country at large.
"He will go into the history of Kilifi County as a leader who wanted to improve our lives as Coastal people and see us at par with other regions," Kingi said on Saturday."
As we celebrate his life, let us pull our heads together as Coastal people to ensure we secure our political future as one people.
"The governor noted that the late Joseph Kingi and all other great coastal leaders before him had a dream of a united Coastal region which would influence decision making at the national stage and "it is now our duty to realize that dream."
