[Photo: Courtesy]Leaders from Marafa and Gongoni wards in Magarini Sub-county, have endorsed Kilifi governor Amason Kingi, as he seeks re-election. "Indeed, this is a true testimony and recognition of the successes by my government in service delivery," he said after the endorsement, Monday.While re-affirming his government’s commitment to improving the living standards of Kilifi locals, Kingi said corporation of individuals was the power behind any success. He said his government had realised tremendous achievements for the people of Marafa and Gongoni in the past four Years compared to many decades of marginalisation."In Marafa, my government has constructed 30 new ECD classrooms including the state-of-the-art Vithunguni model ECD center, while in Gongoni ward, 18 ECD classrooms are complete and operational," said Kingi."All these classrooms are fully equipped with furniture and other learning materials. We have improved medical services through constructing and equipping maternity wing at Marafa dispensary and Chamari health center."Marafa ward also received two tractors which the governor indicated have greatly boosted the agricultural sector in the area. "To date, my administration has upgraded more than 40Km of road while opening other access roads which were impassable four years ago before the devolution."This has eased the transportation and movements of people, according to Kingi, who also indicated his government had connected more than 20,000 families to fresh piped water, solving cases of residents walking long distances of up to 7km to get water from nearest water points.
