Photo/ zipo.co.keKilifi Governor Amason Kingi has distanced himself from allegations that he has been funding Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s campaign. This comes after a section of Jubilee leaders claimed that Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho have been funding their party leader’s activities.Kingi, however, termed the allegations as baseless, adding that the claims have been propagated by leaders with selfish interests. He said Jubilee politicians do not have evidence to back the claims hence should desist from the same. The outspoken governor argued that Raila has been campaigning even before the governor posts were created.“Raila started moving around Kenya many years before we became governors. That is the propaganda that Jubilee thrives on,” said Kingi, as quoted by Ureport. He challenged Jubilee leaders to concentrate on matters of development rather than wasting time on propaganda.“Fix the ailing economy, security and cost of living that is going up day by day instead of spending your time on empty talk,” he added. The governor also rubbished claims that the defection of his deputy will affect his political career.
