Speaking on Friday shortly after the government withdrawing his security detail and that of Joho, Kingi maintained that he is firmly in ODM and will not be joining a different party.

"They (Jubilee) have targeted me and Mr Joho due to our firm stand in ODM party. I am in ODM and I am not going to change my mind," he said.

The governor further accused the Jubilee administration of intimidation after his security detail was withdrawn, saying he was puzzled by the move just few months to the next general elections.

"We are wondering why this is happening at this time when we are heading towards the electioneering period. Even without bodyguards, Kilifi residents will protect me as their governor," he added.
