In a report by the Standard , Kingi said every political post in the party would be subjected to competitive nominations to avoid a fallout within the party.

Kingi, who is also the Kilifi County party chair said Kilifi will not be a free party endorsement election ground and called on all aspirants to brace themselves for a fierce nomination battle.

"There have been reports that some individuals are going to be given direct tickets within the ODM party. In Kilifi, that will not happen. Every aspirant will have to undergo the party nomination process to get the ticket for the 2017 elections," said Kingi as quoted by the Standard.

This comes after queries were raised about the possibility of some politicians getting direct nominations for the 2017 elections.

In previous ODM party nominations, there have been claims that the exercise has always been rigged and in the process favouring some individuals.

For instance in Malindi, there have been claims by aspirants that the party would not hold free and fair nomination processes.
