 Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has received a major boost after the members of the county assembly (MCAs) approved his list of county executive nominees. According to The Star, the second-time county boss is expected to unveil his cabinet after the MCAs vetted and approved the list.

 Acting county secretary Bibi Fondo on Tuesday revealed that the ten nominees will be taking their oaths of office at the county boss’ office. 

Kingi, a close ally of Mombasa governor Ali Joho made several changes in his new team as he seeks to transform the county in the next five years of his leadership.

He retained the water, environment, natural resources and forestry department CEC, Mwachitu Karisa.  Samuel Kombe will be in charge of the finance and economic planning docket. John Kombe, who is the current finance CEC has been appointed to join the county assembly's Public Service Board while Josphat Mwatela is expected to head the roads, public works, and transport department.

The lands, energy, housing and urban development was given to Charles Dudu who took over following the demise of John Mazuri in 2017 while Former county director for health Anisa Omar will take charge of the health docket under the new cabinet

The governor appointed Rachel Musyoki, who once worked in the health docket, to head the devolution, public service, and disaster management while Nahida Mohammed, who is Kingi's former economic adviser, will take over the trade, tourism and cooperative development docket.

Kingi named Pwani University don Gabriel Katana to head the education and ICT docket. Luciana Jumwa was given the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.
