Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi today paid a courtesy call on his Kisumu counterpart Dr Mathews Owili.
Speaking after the meeting, Kingi noted that they discussed a range of possible areas of partnership between the two cities.
The Mombasa Deputy Governor explained that Kisumu, and Mombasa share a lot in common, and thus the need for partnership.
“Kisumu just like Mombasa has a great potential in the blue economy and we shall be seeking avenues for harnessing synergies between our countries to derive the best out of our fisheries and water bodies,” Stated Kingi.
Kingi noted that he hoped the availability of direct flies to and from the two cities, would open the counties interiors for trade and tourism.
He said that the common problem facing devolution across all counties was insufficient funds, and advocated for an increase in amount of money sent to the counties.
