According to the County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, his government does not have the funds to help in building a road that was cut off when the gullies formed.

The sentiments came after residents from Muniu and Jikaze villages held a protest last month saying five people died as a result of the huge gully.

While visiting the area, Mbugua said the solution required the intervention of the National Government adding that there are no engineers at the local level to help solve the situation.

"These gullies have been formed as a result of volcanic eruption and will require high level science to help build a road that has cut off two villages that share common social amenities," he said.
