Speaking in a vernacular TV station on Wednesday night, Muthutho said Nakuru doesn't need an administrator but a good governor who will implement social transformation and economic empowerment.

"I am a catholic but I cannot be a cardinal or a vicar. I am not suited in that field. Similarly, Kinuthia is an excellent commander but he doesn't fit a governor at all. He knows only to give orders and directives which is contrary to the manner in which a county is run," said Mututho.

Mututho has already said he will vie for Nakuru governor and promised the people development projects owing to his wealth of experience and expertise in leadership.

"My record speaks for itself. I gave birth to a number of bills at the National Assembly for the five years I represented the people of Naivasha. This made H.E the President appoint me to head the Nacada board for my fight against alcoholism. If Nakuru people elect me as the CEO of their county, I will better their roads and ensure that their agricultural products reach market as fresh as they were in their shambas," added Mututho.

The Nakuru top seat have attracted a number of aspirants. The incumbent, Kinuthia has said he will defend the seat. Kinuthia's deputy, Joseph Rutto has also said he will contest for the seat.

Others include, former Nakuru Town MP and NTSA chairman Lee Kinyanjui, Senator James Mungai Kiarie. Close allies of Nakuru Town East David Gikaria say he will be in the contest though he has not confirmed.
