Speaking in Molo on Sunday, Kinyanjui, who is also National Transport and Safety Chairman, said corruption levels at the county government have hit rock bottom.

He said jobs in the county government have turned into a cash cow because they are sold to the highest bidder.

“You all saw in the newspaper just the other day that you are required to part with upto sh400, 000 to get a job at the county,” he said.

He further took issues with minimal development projects initiated in the county.

He questioned how Sh33 billion has been spent by the county government.

“The county gets at least Sh33 billion and if you divide that by the number of constituencies which are eleven, each constituency gets sh3 billion and we have no projects we can peg to that money. Show us projects commensurate to this money,” he stated.

Nakuru County has been on the spotlight for some time now after various leaders questioned high recurrent expenditure in the county which uses more than half of its revenue in paying salaries and little for development purposes.
