Nakuru county governor Lee Kinyanjui has said his administration will invest in Agriculture by reviving pyrethrum and improve Irish potato sector in the county.

“We shall work with industry stakeholders to create storage services for potato farmers in Mau Narok, Molo and Kuresoi regions. This will cushion farmers from the erratic price attrition and improve their profitability," Kinyanjui said.

The county boss said he will deliver as by his campaign pledge.

According to Kinyanjui, the county's huge potential in agriculture is dormant.

The Jubilee governor said agriculture has supported the growth of the county over the years and he will seek support from the national government to revive sectors that have gone down.

“Agriculture begins with research on base factories and dissemination of the same to farmers. From seed propagation, crop management harvesting, storage and marketing and value additions", said Kinyanjui.

On her part, Nakuru County Women Rep Lisa Chelule said agriculture has helped in empowering women and youth.

She noted that investing in agriculture will secure the county's food position.
