Nakuru Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto has cautioned Nakuru residents against electing Lee Kinyajui as their governor.
While rooting for Governor Kinuthia Mbugua’s reelection, Ruto said Kinyajui ‘oppressed’ residents when he served as National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) chair.
“This man introduced laws to oppress you. Do not elect him,” Ruto said during a trip at Turi.
Kinyajui’s allies have however told off the deputy governor over Kinuthia’s reelection.
“NTSA is not a personal property of Kinyajui. The rules introduced are meant to help Kenyans. He should instead be telling Nakuru residents what they have done to deserve another term,” Beatrice Wambugu said.
