Former National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) chairman Lee Kinyanjui has slammed at those opposed to the appointment of Nakuru County Speaker Susan Kihika as President Uhuru Kenyatta's lead campaign coordinator in Nakuru.

Kinyanjui said the President appointed Kihika following approval from majority leaders.

"Those going in media to give statements against the appointment of Susan Kihika are just not serious.The President made the appointment and it coincide with the people of Nakuru's will to have one of their own in the team," he said.

Kinyanjui also urged Nakuru County residents to support county speaker to deliver votes for Jubilee team in 2017 polls.

"Jubilee is a party that has shown an interest in uniting Kenyans and we appeal to everyone to join the party since doors are open even to our brothers and sisters from the opposition,"he said.

On her part, Kihika assured assured area residents that the Jubilee nominations will be free and fair and fair.

"As the President said,let me also reiterate that the nominations will be free and fair and therefore no one should worry about that.Let us also ensure peaceful campaigns as a team,"she said.
