Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has called upon the church to intervene and convince NASA leader Raila Odinga to reconsider his stance and drop plans to swear himself in as President.
In a statement on his Facebook page Tuesday, the county boss termed Odinga's inauguration, dated for December 12 as the nation will be celebrating Jamhuri Day, as contrary to the constitution and will be accompanied by tough legal penalties.
''I call upon the church to talk to former Prime Minister the Right Hon. Raila Amollo to rethink his stance on swearing himself as President against the constitution as we all know the consequences of such acts,'' said the county boss.
This comes at a time when Odinga's NASA alliance has remained defiant, maintaining that the inauguration preparations are on course and will proceed as planned.Odinga's team has also poked holes into President Uhuru Kenyatta re-election and inauguration terming him an illegitimate President.
