Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has called on the Nakuru county assembly members to stop 'sideshows' and work closely with the executive to bring development.

Speaking during the launch of the first county bursary kitty under his administration, Kinyanjui said his administration is focused on bringing development.

“We have a responsibility as leaders to deliver and this can only be achieved through working together. There is no room for sideshows that have only negative impact to the county as far as development is concerned,” he said.

The county boss said education is among the county's agenda in the next five years.

While admitting that mean score performance in schools in Nakuru remain low, Kinyanjui said already mechanisms are in place to address the same.

“We have a responsibility to ensure quality education in our schools and I call on the administrators, the MCAs, parents and all other stakeholders to work closely in ensuring the same,” he said.
