The County Government of Nakuru has launched free vaccination campaign for livestock against foot and mouth, lumpy skin and rabies in Wei, Waseges Ward in Subukia sub-county.
The campaign is aimed at eradicating livestock diseases in the area as animals are a source of livelihood for residents.
As a County, Governor Lee Kinyanjui said they will continue to support livestock farmers and will go a step further to help them improve breed.
He thanked residents for bringing their livestock for vaccination and urged them to ensure all their neighbours have taken their animals to be vaccinated.
"The National government has pledged to build water pans in Subukia as a pilot project. We will work hard to ensure one is constructed at Wei to ensure residents have water supply even in dry season," he said on Friday, adding that roads in Waseges and Subukia will also be rehabilitated to facilitate movement within the sub-county.
Lee was accompanied by Nakuru County Deputy Governor Dr. Eric Korir, CEC for Agriculture Dr Immaculate Njuthe and CEC for Public Service Mr. Mwania Mwangangi.
