[Photo|Lee Kinyanjui]Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui attended the launch of Mau - Egerton Marathon at the A.R.C Egerton University, Njoro. The charitable event is geared at rehabilitation and preservation of River Njoro, one of the main tributaries of Lake Nakuru. Mau Forest is the largest remaining indigenous forest in Kenya covering over 400,000 hectares and the largest of the country's water towers as well as the largest closed-canopy forest ecosystem. "My administration will continue supporting events geared towards rehabilitation and preservation of our habitat," said the governor on Friday.He also met Egerton University Management Board and agreed to collaborate in activities geared in promoting agricultural extension programmes. "This will be achieved through internship programmes and offering attachment to students to facilitate agricultural extension services through on job training."They also agreed with the University Management to strengthen the MOU between the University and Level 5 Hospital through their Faculty of Health Sciences on how both institutions will benefit to offer quality services.
