The National Transport and Safety Authority chair Lee Kinyanjui has outlined his course of action once elected as Nakuru Governor.
Kinyanjui said 70 per cent of the county’s revenue goes to recurrent expenditure which leaves little money for development and that will be the first issue he will tackle head on.
“70% of the county’s revenue goes to paying salaries and the like and they are still employing and this leaves little money for development. I will address this issue so that we have more channelled to development projects,” he said Wednesday during an interview with Inooro TV.
Secondly, the NTSA boss said he will enhance transparency in his administration for effective governance.
“Transparency is an integral aspect in proper governance and I am very keen on ensuring that my administration will be very transparent so that the public can have confidence with whatever we are doing,” he said.
In addition, he said he will focus on empowering the small scale traders and hawkers in Nakuru County as he termed them as the key economy drivers of the county and the country by extension.
Nakuru County governorship race has gained traction as former Naivasha MP John Mututho, the Nacada chair has also declared interest in the seat.
