Nakuru county boss Lee Kinyanjui has assured pyrethrum farmers of his commitment to reviving the ailing sub-sector within his term in office.
The governor said that the pyrethrum sub-sector is among the areas he will concentrate on as he seeks to resuscitate the county following his election in August last year.
The first-term governor said that he is working with other stakeholders in the sector to ensure farmers reap big at the end of the harvest season.
“We have already partnered with pyrethrum stakeholders to restore confidence in the sector and have established seed nurseries to provide clean planting materials,” he said as quoted by Daily Nation
Kinyanjui also said that his government has suffered a number of challenges since he took over from Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
On his part, Mr. Joseph Monda, the national chairman of Pyrethrum Growers Association (PGA) said that there is hope for the farmers following the change in the leadership.
He noted that the recent twist of events is a clear indicator that the governor is ready to transform the lives of the farmers.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel if the revival activities are anything to go by,” said
