Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has promised to develop a comprehensive emergency response mechanism.
This is after a chopper crashed in Lake Nakuru, killing all the passengers and pilot on board.
Three bodies are still missing as the search team continues with the operation in a bid to retrieve them.
The county boss said that his government is dedicated to improving the emergency response sector in the county following the tragedy.
"We expect better response in future, we shall work with the Kenya Wildlife Service to come up with a better package so that we are able to do better," he said, as quoted by Nation.
The search for the missing bodies has been intensified after several groups including Kenya Navy and four boats joined the team. Over 40 divers from different units have also joined the search team following the tragic incident.
According to National Disaster Operation Centre desk officer Jonathan Kertich, poor visibility is among the challenges that have hampered the search mission by the divers.
The search has retrieved only two of the bodies and parts of the chopper following the crash.
