Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has told Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i to bring to book the killer of Meru University student leader Evans Njoroge.
Speaking during the burial of Njoroge at Longonot, Naivasha, Kinyanjui wondered why the police officer said to have shot dead the student is yet to be arrested.
"Many a times we have heard that no stone will be left unturned but up to now not even soil has been turned. We are saying as a county if the culprits are not brought to book we shall act," Kinyanjui said.
He added: "I stand with the family of the late and ask Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and IG Joseph Boinnet to ensure the culprit is brought to book. We will not bury our son and forget about it."
He said the sanctity of life must be protected and universities' management should know they are responsible for students when they are in the institutions.
"Problems in the learning institutions should be solved through dialogue, not bullets," he said.
Other leaders present at the burial included Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, Gilgil MP Martha Wangari and nominated MP Gideon Keter.
