In what would appear to be a courtship, Machakos senatorial aspirant Henry Carlos Kioko is quietly reaching out to Muslims to gain their support for his senatorial bid.
During his meeting with Muslim women representatives over the weekend at Syokimau, Kioko promised to push for more Muslim participation in county government if elected senator.
Kioko promised to ensure exclusivity where everyone is represented. He said even though the community had settled and interacted with local community peacefully, the have not been fully represented in the county government.
Gilbert Jomo, an adviser to Kioko, said the campaign team has been in discussion with the Muslim community and they will count on their support. He also confirmed aspirant Carlos has received a clear support by the Muslim who will put out a statement soon endorsing him.
