London Marathon winners Eliud Kipchoge and Vivian Cheruiyot got a rare opportunity to meet Prince Harry, after finishing their races.
Kipchoge completed a treasured treble as Vivian Cheruiyot celebrated a breakthrough victory in what was a bright, shiny afternoon in London.
He underlined his reputation as one of the best marathoners in history, winning his ninth race out of 10 starts in a time of 2:04:17.
In so doing, Kipchoge beat Mo Farah of Great Britain, who was making a transition from middle-distance races to the marathons.
And after the win, Kipchoge had a special message for his fans and the host city.
“I came to London to run a beautiful race and today I ran a really beautiful race,” said the Olympic champion. “Thank you, London.”
Vivian, on the other hand, had a field day out, after beating defending champion Mary Keitany to lift the title, and saw off Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba in the process.
