Sitienei said Kipchims' death was unfortunate and a big blow to not only the family but women Members of Parliament as a whole.

"On behalf of myself, family and the entire people of Turbo constituency to whom I represent, I want to send a message of condolences to the family and friends of the late Grace Kapchoim. May God give you strength during this hard time of mourning," said the Turbo MP in Eldoret town, Sunday.

"I am very saddened by her demise, I am speechless and I don't know what to do. May his soul rest in eternal peace. As women Members of Parliament, we will really miss her services," added the Jubilee allied MP who was elected on an independent ticket.

She noted that Kipchoim was very instrumental in fighting cattle rustling in her constituency when she was elected for her first term in 2013.

The MP asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to declare Cancer a national disaster noting that the disease was claiming many lives in the country.

The 49-year-old Baringo South MP succumbed to cancer at Nairobi Hospital.
