The wind also ruined the administration office block and the school’s kitchen. The school head teacher, Timothy Kimani, said the disaster had paralysed learning in the institution for some hours.

"The wind ruined two classes, administration block and a kitchen. Most pupils were in deep shock hence causing unease and great fear," said Kimani.

According to Kimani the two classes were built two years ago and were in stable condition.

The school’s Parents Teachers Association (PTA) chairperson, Jackson Okata, appealed to well-wishers and the government to help them raise the money to repair the buildings.

Okata said that the school alone cannot manage to repair the institution since the fund they receive from the ministry are strictly assigned to tuition.

"We are appealing to well-wishers to assist us to repair the buildings. We are in need of approximately Sh 2 million,” said Kimani.
