Brimin Kipkorir is the winner of the Standard Chartered Marathon held in Nairobi on Sunday.

Korir rose above the rest, beating Shadrack Kiptoo and Joshua Kipkorir to the finish line.

He braved the chilly rainy morning in the 42 kilometre race and took a record time of 2:12:39 closely followed by second-placed Kiptoo  who finished at 2:12:56.

Kipkorir came third, finishing at 2:13:37.

The race also saw other winners in newcomer Felix Kibitok and Prague Marathon champion Valarie Ayabei who bagged the trophy of the half marathon.
