Elders from the Kispigis community have raised their concern over the continued public spat between Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto saying it will cause division between communities living in the Rift Valley region.
The Kipsigis Council of Elders said Wednesday that the DP’s attacks on the Governor do not augur well with the community and besides, they are ill-timed.
The elders, led by vice chairman William Ketienya said the DP has made it a habit of insulting leaders who are not in the Jubilee Party whenever he visits the South Rift region.
They now want the Deputy President to respect other leaders and shun insults in the future.
“The community is not going to benefit in any way if the leaders continue to engage in politics of insults, they need to look for an agreeable solution to their differences and work together as a team,” said Ketieny as quoted by citizentv.co.ke.
The elders spoke to Chamgei FM on Wednesday.
