Spokesman Eric Kiraithe on Wednesday issued Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and other leaders from parties affiliated to the National Super Alliance (NASA) against hatching a plot to disrupt the forthcoming general polls.

Kiraithe noted that the Senator, who was given a direct ticket to defend his seat, made remarks that are likely to affect the electoral process when that time comes.

The spokesman argued that Muthama’s remarks indicate lack of confidence in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's (IEBC), adding that they are likely to instill fear in the electorate.

He also said that Muthama and other leaders from the opposition have no mandate to bar the national electoral body from conducting polls in the country.

"We note that Senator Muthama and his colleagues do not have any legitimate ability to stop the election. They can only do this by inciting their supporters to use violence to disrupt the process," Kiraithe noted, as quoted Kenyans.co.ke.

The legislator, who hit headlines a few days ago over plans to ditch wiper, has been very vocal on matters of national interest as we head to the polls. Kiraithe has, however, warned him to go slow and let the IEBC do its job.
