Government spokesman Eric Kiraithe has said hooliganism will not be tolerated ahead of the 2017 general election.
Kiraithe said police officers will deal with those planning to disrupt peace in the country.
He reiterated the government's commitment to protecting its citizens' lives and property, adding that anyone who will be found engaging in disorderly conduct will not be spared.
He further urged politicians in the country to carry out peaceful campaigns, in a bid to ensure their supporters do not engage in hooliganism.
This comes after a vehicle was torched on Sunday as ODM and Jubilee supporters clashed in Nairobi.
Officers were forced to use tear gas and water canons to disperse the rowdy youth.
The two sides held separate political rallies at Masinde Muliro grounds, Huruma and Mlango Kubwa respectively.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has said that police have launched investigations into the incident.
