Meru Governor-elect Kiraitu Murungi has said he will not take revenge on his prceedeser Peter Munya.
"Munya should be told to leave the field since the match has ended. The referee has blown the whistle."
Kiraitu said he will create a Meru Economic and Social Council as a permanent think-tank for the county's socio-economic transformation.
"My leadership will not take the form of a lone-ranger like Munya's. We'll work with the national government to improve security, roads, health care and education," Kiraitu said during his swearing-in ceremony.
"The days of big man politics are long gone with Munya. Don't call me his excellency because I am your brother."
Former Deputy Governor Raphael Muriungi handed the instruments of office over to Kiraitu.
