The political differences between PNU party leader Peter Munya and Meru senator Kiraitu Murungi went notch higher after Murungi 'insulted' the party.
Munya who is also the Meru governor, seeks re-election through PNU, while Murungi seeks to unseat him through President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party.
Since Munya decamped Kiraitu's Bus party to PNU after it was merged to form Jubilee, the two Meru politicians have been politically cold towards each other.
During Jubilee party's Smart Card launch at the Kasarani Stadium, Friday, Kiraitu likened Munya's PNU to a goat that would be slaughtered in August.
According to Kiraitu, PNU is a party that can not beat Jubilee in Meru.
"They formed PNU thinking it can beat Jubilee. PNU is a goat that we will slaughter in August. I will be the Meru governor,'' said Kiraitu.
However in a quick rejoinder, Munya dismissed Kiraitu, saying he should be ready for a fierce political battle during the August 8 election.
